Scotlandville Sweeps; Tioga & Warren Easton Clinch Gold On Final Day of LHSAA Outdoor State Meet

BATON ROUGE – The Scotlandville track program had much to be proud of Saturday, sweeping the boys and girls state championships to conclude the 2024 LHSAA Outdoor Track & Field Meet in Baton Rouge.
The Hornets dominated the boy’s side with 76 total points, outscoring defending champion Catholic of Baton Rouge by 23 points. Scotlandville used five first-place finishes to take home its first-ever boys title.
It was old hat for the Scotlandville girls who repeated as state champions with a dominant 83-point performance, using six first-place finishes to bring the girl’s program its fifth overall state title in school history.
In Class 4A, it was a historic day for the Tioga boys track squad as it used a 60-point performance to lock up its first-ever state title in the school’s history. The Indians, who had finished runner-up the last two seasons, became the first team from central Louisiana to win an LHSAA boys track title since Grace Christian in 2015. Warren Easton took the crown on the girl’s side for the first time since 1998 with a dominant 72 points Teurlings Catholic’s 56.
