St. Edmund’s Offensive Line, Lutcher’s Sterling Named Football Players of the Week

This week’s GeauxPreps Football Players of the Week honors are presented by Chevyland.com and awarded to deserving student-athletes who served as game changers for their respective schools.
Offense: St. Edmund Blue Jay Offensive Line
In the world of high school football, the offensive linemen often labor in the shadows, but the St. Edmund Blue Jay offensive line has emerged as the shining star of the week. This unsung hero unit paved the way for a series of remarkable offensive performances, propelling tailback Ke’Von Johnson to become the leading rusher in Louisiana. Over its last three games, the Blue Jay offensive line has produced over 1,500 yards of total offense, including an astonishing 400-yard display against the previously undefeated Oakdale. Their dedication and hard work have undoubtedly played a pivotal role in the team’s recent successes.
Defense: Reshad Sterling – Lutcher High School – Defensive End
Reshad Sterling, the junior defensive end from Lutcher High School, showcased his dominance on the defensive side of the ball. In a spectacular shutout victory over South Lafourche, Sterling was an unstoppable force, amassing an impressive 10 tackles, four of which resulted in a loss of yards for the opposing team. Throughout the game, he consistently applied pressure on the opposing quarterback, tallying three pressures and delivering a trio of devastating sacks. Sterling’s outstanding performance was a key factor in Lutcher’s ability to keep their opponents at bay, preserving the shutout victory.
These two exceptional student-athletes, along with their respective teams, have demonstrated outstanding skill, determination, and sportsmanship on the football field.
