St. Paul’s Michael Sarver Named Boy’s Basketball Player of the Week

Boys’s Player of the Week: Michael Sarver, Senior, Guard

Stat Line (Jan. 26-30): 24 PPG, 5.3 RBG, 1.7 APG, 2 SPG

In an exceptional showing at the St. Louis Catholic Invitational, St. Paul’s junior guard, Michael Sarver, secured the latest GeauxPreps.com Boys Basketball Player of the Week award, sponsored by Visit Lake Charles.

Michael’s standout performances included a commanding win against Sulphur (70-47) on Dec 27, where he notched 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists, earning him the Player of the Game title. Despite a narrow loss to East St. John (72-78) on Dec 28, Michael contributed 28 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals. Closing the tournament with a victory over St. Louis Catholic (55-39) on Dec 29, he recorded 28 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 6 steals, securing another Player of the Game title and a spot on the All Tournament Team.

In a season where St. Paul’s faced the challenge of losing four senior starters, Michael’s emergence as a top-tier guard has propelled the team to a commendable 13-6 record. As GeauxPreps.com recognizes his exceptional on-court contributions, Michael Sarver continues to set a high standard for basketball excellence in the state.
