Sam Houston Volleyball Named Team of the Week

In the world of high school sports, there are certain moments that define a team’s season, sparking enthusiasm among players, coaches, and fans alike. For the Sam Houston Lady Broncos volleyball squad, this week is undoubtedly one of those moments as they earn the coveted GeauxPreps Team of the Week award, presented by Magnolia Property Management.
With an impressive overall record of 18-3 on the year and currently holding the No. 2 ranking in the latest GeauxPreps playoff projections, the Lady Broncos are on a scorching path toward success. Their recent performance has ignited a nine-game win streak, which is nothing short of impressive. Over the past week alone, Sam Houston showcased their dominance, securing a perfect 6-0 record that left their opponents in awe.
The Lady Broncos wasted no time in asserting their dominance, beginning with a commanding victory against Rayne. But their true test of strength came in the Ruston Tournament, where they faced formidable opponents in Ponchatoula, Captain Shreve, and C.E. Byrd, and emerged victorious on all fronts. This triumphant tournament run demonstrated their ability to not only compete but to excel against some of the state’s top volleyball programs.
Much of this success can be attributed to the leadership of Head Coach Renee Fontenot. Under her guidance, the team has found its rhythm and consistency, proving that they are a force to be reckoned with as the season progresses. Coach Fontenot’s experience and expertise have clearly played a pivotal role in Sam Houston’s outstanding performance.
The future looks bright for the Lady Broncos as they enter a competitive district slate in the coming weeks.
