MONROE – One of the largest high school baseball tournaments in Louisiana returns this weekend as the Trey Altick Prep Baseball Classic welcomes teams from across Louisiana and even from outside the state for the three-day event.

The annual tournament will see over 70 games played across eight locations in the Northeast region of the state starting on Thursday and runs through Saturday evening.

Ticket prices will be $7 on Thursday and Friday while Saturday’s admission will cost $10 at any field.

Three state champions from 2021 will be in attendance at this year’s classic as Claiborne Christian, Oak Grove, and Ouachita Christian will play each day.

The annual event has been held every year since 2006 and is played in memory of former Neville baseball player Trey Altick, who was killed in a tragic accident in 2008.
