Volleyball top performances are nominated by the school’s head coach. To nominate a student-athlete, the head coach may submit statistics, team win-loss records and other supporting information to hbower@geauxpreps.com by 10AM each Monday.

Senior setter Kate Baker ran the Dominican offense to perfection last week as the team finished with a perfect 5-0 mark.

Baker, the 2021 Division I Volleyball All-State Player of the Year, enjoyed a career high 23 digs, 49 assists, and 9 kills in a victory over Dutchtown to begin the undefeated week. She also played an integral part in Dominicans three tournament wins over Archbishop Hannan, E.D. White, and rival Mt. Carmel, where she led the team in kills and assists.

“This week was a great start for our team, and Kate plays a huge role in that,” said head coach Jessica Chatellier. “Kate is a tremendous leader on the court through her play and her ability to keep everyone calm and in control. With the versatility of this team and her court vision and ability, Kate runs such a complex offense. She is able to spread the ball around and had four hitters in double-digits against Dutchtown.”

Dominican currently ranks No. 1 in the latest GeauxPreps.com Volleyball Power Ratings and are undefeated on the season with a 9-0 record.
