In a week filled with remarkable performances on the hardwood, one young talent stood out above the rest, earning the prestigious title of GeauxPreps.com Boys Basketball Player of the Week, presented by Visit Lake Charles. This week’s recipient, A.J. Olivier from The Dunham School, demonstrated an exceptional level of skill and determination, leaving an indelible mark on the court.
Olivier, a sophomore point guard, showcased his prowess in a pivotal district championship tournament clash against Episcopal, delivering a scintillating performance that propelled his team to a resounding 74-56 victory. In a display of sheer shooting brilliance, Olivier drained an impressive eight three-pointers, finishing the game with an impressive 28-point contribution. His sharpshooting prowess proved instrumental in securing the coveted tournament title for The Dunham School.
However, Olivier’s impact wasn’t confined to just one standout performance. Throughout the tournament, his consistency and versatility were on full display. In the semifinal round against Northeast, Olivier once again rose to the occasion, tallying 17 points while dishing out nine assists, further solidifying his reputation as a dynamic playmaker capable of elevating his team’s performance.
What truly sets Olivier apart is his remarkable efficiency from beyond the arc. Throughout the tournament, he boasted an incredible 73% shooting accuracy from three-point range, a testament to his sharpshooting abilities and unwavering composure in high-pressure situations.
