LHSAA Boys’ Basketball Marsh Madness – Monday Results

LAKE CHARLES – Eight teams punched their ticket to a state championship game Monday as the LHSAA Boys’ Basketball Marsh Madness kicked off in Lake Charles and Lafayette.

In Class 3A, the top-seeded Madison Prep Chargers cruised to a semi-final victory over Carroll while 11 seed St. Martinville denied No. 2 Wossman a second-straight title appearance.

Madison Prep looks to capture its seventh state championship and first since 2019 while St. Martinville makes its first title appearance since 2002.

Division IV provided some of the most exciting action of the day as No. 1 Crescent City took down No. 5 Country Day, 57-53, while No. 3 Calvary Baptist hung on to beat out No. 2 Riverside by four points.

Calvary’s Daniel Ortiz led his team with 18 points while Gage Larvadain led all scorers with 35 for Riverside.

In Class C, No. 6 Ebarb made history as it upset No. 2 Phoenix to advance to the state championship for the first time since 1970. Zach Parrie finished with 44 points on the night for the Rebels.

Top-seeded Simpson will face off against Ebarb after edging out Hornbeck, 58-57.

Division V will see the top two seeds face off against each other as No. 1 Jehovah-Jireh handled Grace Christian, 59-40. No. 2 Family Christian took care of business against No. 3 Episcopal of Acadiana.

Family Christian seeks its first state title since 2002 while Jehovah-Jireh hopes to win its four title in school history.
