Ringgold Redskins Football Team Earn Team of the Week Honors

In a thrilling start to the high school football season, the Ringgold High School football squad has captured the inaugural GeauxPreps Team of the Week presented by Magnolia Property Management. Their remarkable performance on the gridiron has earned them this prestigious recognition, and it’s a momentous occasion for the Redskins.
Friday night brought a renewed sense of hope and excitement to the Ringgold community as they witnessed their beloved football team secure their first season-opening victory since 2016. The Redskins clashed with Northwood-Lena in a nail-biting contest, ultimately emerging victorious with a final score of 34-26.
This triumph was more than just a win; it was a symbol of resilience, determination, and a bright future for Ringgold football. The victory not only marked the end of a challenging six-game losing streak dating back to the previous season but also provided the Redskins with their first non-district win since 2017.
Leading the charge for Ringgold were standout performers Jordyn Wilson and Carlos Madden. Wilson’s explosive play on the ground accounted for two crucial touchdowns, and he racked up an impressive 86 yards rushing during the game. Meanwhile, Madden showcased his prowess on the defensive end, recording an impressive 10 tackles, helping to keep Northwood-Lena at bay.
