Southern Classic Chicken To Sponsor NW Louisiana Weekly Recap

LAKE CHARLES – is pleased to announce that Southern Classic Chicken, one of Louisiana’s largest independently owned restaurant chains, has joined the high school sports website as title sponsor for Northwest Louisiana’s Weekly Recap Notebook.

Southern Classic Chicken has been a family institution in North Louisiana for the past 35 years. With eight of its 14 total restaurants located in Northwest Louisiana, Southern Classic is dedicated to serving the absolute best fried chicken and sides at a price point that provides an incredible value has been the goal since day one and will continue on as the company moves forward. 

“This is a great day for as we continue to provide the best coverage of high school sports in Louisiana,” said owner Hunter Bower. “When we decided to step out and dedicate our attention to regional coverage as well, I reached out to Alan Fanning over at Southern Classic. He is a huge supporter of high school sports and was excited about this opportunity. We can’t thank him enough for allowing us to do what we love the most!”

Southern Classic will serve as the title sponsor for Northwest Louisiana’s weekly notebook covering multiple high school programs from Shreveport down to Natchitoches over to Arcadia up to Haynesville. Each week will provide an array of highlights from some of the area’s biggest games, accomplishments from individuals as well as other news within the region.

Lee Hiller, one of Shreveport’s most respected sportswriters, will serve as the correspondent for Northwest Louisiana.

“Our mission at is to highlight the student-athletes, coaches, administrations and fans in each region of the state,” said Bower. This weekly recap will be a stepping stone as we continue to give our fans the coverage they deserve. We are ecstatic that Lee is on board as he will do his best to highlight what is going on in the area weekly. We can’t be more excited to get started.”
