The Extra Point: Tidbits & More From Week 8

A Whole Lotta Offense

For the second time this season, Benton found itself in a high-scoring shootout against a District 1-5A foe. However, the Tigers were the winning party in the high-scoring affair as they took a 78-71 win over Haughton on Friday.

It’s the second time that Benton has allowed 70 or more points in a game as Airline defeated the Tigers, 75-59, earlier in the season.

In the Acadiana area, Carencro took care of business in district play with the second-highest scoring affair of the evening in a 72-55 win over Sam Houston. The Bears tied or broke nine school records in Friday’s win highlighted by Kenyon Ryan surpassing the 1,000-yard rushing mark while Chantz Caesar crossing over the 1,000-yard mark in receiving yards.
