Week 10 Prep Football Polls Powered By The Tim Fletcher Show

LAKE CHARLES – High school football teams across Louisiana are preparing for the final regular season contest this weekend and with the playoffs drawing near, multiple squads look to hold on to the top spots in the GeauxPreps.com Prep Football Polls Powered By The Tim Fletcher Show.

In Class 5A, Acadiana was vaulted from the top spot as its 20-game streak was snapped in a 27-21 loss at Catholic-BR. The defeat dropped the Rams to No. 5 while Brother Martin took over as the new top team in the state’s highest classification. The Bears are now ranked No. 2 in the state.

Rummel was promoted to the third spot after having defeated John Curtis, 20-14, Saturday night. The Raiders only loss this season came to Brother Martin by three points.

Class 4A’s top two teams battled it out on Friday night with St. Thomas More leaving as the victor over Carencro, 37-22. The loss dropped the Bears to No. 4 while Edna Karr climbed to the second spot and Warren Easton was named the No. 3 team.

No changes were made in Class 3A as most of the top ten either won its game or did not play. Top-ranked De La Salle improved to 7-0 on the year with a 48-3 victory at home against Kenner Discovery.

The same can be said for Class 2A as not many changes occurred in the top ten poll. The top four teams proved again why they belong at the top of the rankings after beating their opponents by a combined score of 248-40.

In Class 1A, Calvary Baptist took down Haynesville and Riverside defeated West St. John in the classification’s only match-up between ranked teams. West St. John fell out of the rankings allowing Oberlin to make an appearance in the poll. Catholic-PC also climbs into the Top 10 as Logansport lost its second straight game Friday night.
