West Monroe Ranked 4th, John Curtis 8th In NFCA High School Softball Super 25 Poll

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Two of the elite high school softball teams in the state of Louisiana have been recognized for their strong performances to begin the 2022 season in the second edition of the USA TODAY Sports/NFCA High School Super 25 poll.
West Monroe (12-0) is off to a great start on the season with victories over defending state champions Barbe, North DeSoto and Calvary Baptist. The Lady Rebels have limited their opponent’s scoring efforts with a 2.3 runs allowed per game average. West Monroe entered district play last week and is currently ranked No. 1 in the Class 5A Softball Playoff Power Ratings.
The defending champion in Division I is showing no signs of slowing down as John Curtis (19-1) has outscored its competition 210-53 (10.5 RPG scored to 2.7 RPG allowed). The Lady Patriots have scored double-digit runs in 12 games so far including a string six consecutive games. Curtis currently leads the Division I Softball Playoff Power Ratings.
State rankings submitted by NFCA member coaches are used to compile the USA TODAY Sports/NFCA High School Super 25. Teams are chosen based on performance, roster quality and strength of schedule. In 2021, schools that are not competing will not be eligible for the poll.
